The Day I Almost Died (conclusion)

When I awoke I realized this was not heaven. I had indeed survived, though without any knowledge of how. Dr. Schultz was present with the other wonderful nurses and attendants, my family and friends. It was a very good feeling not to hurt anymore and see all their faces. The doctor showed the video that explained the collapse of the artery. When I had arrived in the Lab there was no blood flowing, my heart rate was dropping and my heart was in severe distress. Had I been anywhere else in the world I would not have made it. The Lord had me right where man could be instrumental in my remaining alive. Without being in the hospital, right after a heart procedure and no one in the Cath Lab all this would have been in vain. I am so wonderfully thankful to the Lord for His graciousness. I am so thankful for the wonderful people of Catawba Hospital, and of course for my family and friends. I am here today because of a great God who loves me enough to allow me to continue to serve Him.

So today almost two weeks later I am on way back to the hospital for another heart catheterization. We will be going to Frye Hospital in a few minutes. I have had two heart episodes since that fateful day. The doctors have determined that there is something wrong in the same artery as before. It is very disappointing, but yet we are very confident that the Lord has good things planned. We decided on Frye since they do open heart surgery and that is something we feel is a possibility. I thank you for your prayers and hopefully I will be writing tomorrow about the great success of today. Again all glory goes to my Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
